Values

BFB Program Value Statement 2020

The Breastfeeding Buddies Program aims to make Waterloo Region a community where all families have the support and information they need to establish and maintain a positive breastfeeding experience.

Our peer program values:

  • the importance of breastfeeding

  • strength based breastfeeding support

  • nonjudgmental, informed decision making

  • parents as experts in their children’s lives

  • strong community partnerships

Our goal is to help improve hospital-to home to -community support and engage with all families and priority populations to increase breastfeeding rates across Waterloo Region.

As an organization in the Kitchener-Waterloo community, we acknowledge that we are on the traditional territory of ‎the Neutral, Anishnawbe, and Haudenosaunee peoples. KDCHC is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations peoples that encompasses six miles on each side of the Grand River. We are grateful for the historic and ongoing care for the land by the Indigenous peoples of this area.
